Job summary

Bridge Machine, part of Boundary Group, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, EIT, Engineering Technologist, or Manufacturing Technician to support machining and hydraulic cylinder repair in Port Coquitlam.

You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to turn inspection findings into actionable manufacturing and repair instructions, ensuring alignment with drawings and customer requirements while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and tolerances.
• Ability to work with machining, fabrication, assembly, or repair.
• Familiarity with GD&T is a plus.
• Experience measuring components and supporting reverse engineering when drawings are incomplete.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise manufacturing and repair drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Measure existing components and support reverse engineering when drawings or technical information are incomplete.
• Review inspection findings to define repair scopes, work instructions, and manufacturing sequences.
• Clarify dimensions, tolerances, fits, materials, and assembly requirements for machining, welding, and rebuild work.
• Provide shop-floor technical support and help resolve manufacturing, repair, and assembly issues.
• Review dimensional inspection results against drawings and approved specifications.
• Support material and components sourcing, assembly, and testing.
• Maintain drawing revisions and technical records, and contribute to quality and process improvements.
• Follow applicable safety requirements, quality procedures, and technical standards.

This hands-on technical role focuses onexisting equipment, repair drawings, dimensional inspection, and shop support.You will work with engineering and production teams to turn inspection findingsand customer requirements into clear manufacturing and repair instructions.

Required Qualifications

Relevanteducation or experience through one of these pathways:

• Mechanical Engineer or EIT:bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Engineering Technologist:diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing EngineeringTechnology, or a related discipline.
• Manufacturing Technician:relevant technician certificate or diploma, or equivalent technical trainingand manufacturing, inspection, or repair-support experience.

Allcandidates should bring:

• Experience with SolidWorksand/or AutoCAD and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and tolerances.
• Practical knowledge ofmachining, fabrication, assembly, or equipment repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude,attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills andthe ability to work with skilled tradespeople and technical teams.
• Ability to manage changingpriorities and maintain accurate documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Hydraulic cylinder inspection,repair, rebuilds, or component manufacturing.
• Machine-shop or heavy-equipmentrepair experience, including honing, welding, or sealing arrangements.
• Dimensional inspection tools,including calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
• Geometric dimensioning andtolerancing (GD&T), repair scopes, or manufacturing routings.
• Professional or technicalregistration relevant to your qualifications, where applicable.
