Job summary

Premform Ltd. in Ontario seeks a Concrete and Formwork Quality Control (QC) professional to ensure concrete, reinforcing steel, and formwork meet CSA/ACI/ASTM standards and project specs.

You will inspect, document, and verify batching, slump, curing, formwork, rebar placement, embedments, and post-pour curing, while maintaining NCRs and QC reports on active projects. On-site role with exposure to outdoor and plant environments, collaborating with project teams to prevent defects and minimize

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in concrete quality control, material testing, or field inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and work outdoors/in plant environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication with contractors, engineers, and clients.
• Adherence to OHSA safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Formwork verification: inspect dimensions, alignment, stability, bracing, and cleanliness before concrete placement.
• Reinforcement inspection: verify rebar placement, tying, spacing per drawings including chair heights and covers.
• Embedment inspection: check anchor bolts and conduits for correct installation.
• Concrete workability checks: monitor slump, batch times, and discharge quality; review mix at truck discharge and placement.
• Curing and hardened concrete: monitor curing conditions and inspect finished concrete for defects.
• Documentation: prepare daily QC reports, inspection checklists, and NCRs; manage data in Excel.
