Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Quality Control Technician- Level 1 for our Precast division in Canada. The role focuses on concrete testing, shop drawings interpretation, and ensuring quality through pre and post pour inspections.

You will set and monitor curing systems, log temperatures, and contribute to production and housekeeping tasks while upholding health, safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• Reading precast shop drawings is preferred.
• ACI concrete field testing technician Grade 1 certification asset or must pass in 6 months of joining.
• Valid Driver's License required. EIT, CET, and Ctechs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC functions including testing fresh and hardened concrete, aggregates, bake out tests, interpret shop drawings, pre/post pour inspections and generate reports.
• Set computerized and handheld curing systems, monitor and log curing temperatures.
• Perform other duties such as production and housekeeping; identify deficiencies and initiate NCR.
• Promote safety and environmental policy adherence in all work environments and areas.

ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Perform quality control functions including testing of fresh and hardened concrete, testing of aggregates, bake out test, interpret shop drawings, pre and post pour inspections and generating reports.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field of experience is preferred.
Required Work Experience: Must have ability to acquire skills to perform the job description duties. Reading precast shop drawings is preferred. ACI concrete field testing technician Grade 1 certified an asset or must pass ACI grade 1 exam in 6 months of joining.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid D/L is required. EIT, CET, and Ctechs are preferred
Additional Requirements:

• Employees in the QC position will be provided opportunities to advance through the PCI Personnel Certification Program subject to the Program guidelines/requirements.
• Must be willing to work overnights and/or weekends.
• Must have good organization & planning skills, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have basic computer & tablet skills (MS Office) and ability to interpret digital drawings.
