Job summary

Green Diamond Equipment in Stratford, PEI is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to diagnose, repair and maintain customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment. You will work with John Deere technology and contribute to a safety-focused, team-driven service department.

Requires 2+ years of repair experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Red Seal certification or an apprenticeship is preferred; forklift license is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs required.
• High school certificate required.
• Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred
• Valid driver's license required.
• Forklift license an asset.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
• Ability to use basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• May attach components and adjust new farm equipment
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
• Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment
