Job summary

Red Deer Public is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten and Elementary Educational Assistant to support students across early years. The role is 24 hours weekly (Mon-Thu) with start as soon as possible and continuing until June 30, 2027.

The successful candidate supports students in Pre-K and elementary grades with independence and care. Desirable qualifications include an Educational Assistant Certificate or related education, experience with complex needs, and the ability to lift and assist as needed.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate, Social Work diploma or comparable education.
• Experience or education with children with complex needs and behaviours preferred.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal guidance.
• Toileting and lifting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students in Pre-Kindergarten and Elementary school grades.
• Work with minimal supervision while promoting inclusive education.
• Assist with daily activities and behaviour support as needed.
