Job summary

Red Deer Public is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students in kindergarten to grade five at Mountview Elementary. The temporary position runs from August 24, 2026 to November 6, 2026, with potential extension.

The successful applicant will provide classroom support for students, families, and staff and collaborate with paraprofessionals and specialists. The role is part-time, 30 hours per week, with duties including assisting with inclusive education opportunities and supporting

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education is required.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Ability to support inclusive education opportunities for K-5 students.
• Experience with Complex Special Educational Needs and Autism is an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively with speech pathologists, OT and school learning teams.
• NVCI or SIVA training would be asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students in grades K-5.

• Experience with Complex Special Educational Needs and Autism is considered an asset
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
• Ability to work with paraprofessionals such as speech pathologist, occupational therapists and school based learning team
• NVCI or SIVA training would be considered an asset
