Job summary

Northland Power seeks a Project Pre-Execution Manager to lead early-stage development activities for solar PV, wind, battery and natural gas projects. You will coordinate cost estimates, schedules, and pre-construction tasks under the Safety, Projects and Development group to ensure readiness for execution.

The role is based in Canada with offices in Toronto, Kingston, Halifax or Calgary and involves travel to project sites. Four days in office per week with one flexible remote day is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planning and coordinating work activities in advance of construction execution.
• Strong experience in logistics planning, cost estimating, and project controls.
• Experience in a similar role within the renewable energy sector and/or gas-fired power projects.
• Engineering, technical, or related degree, with a minimum of 10 years of experience delivering renewable energy and gas-fired power projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, construction, development, and project support teams to lead aspects of early-stage project activities.
• Provide constructability reviews of designs and feedback to achieve lower capex or faster schedule.
• Validate costs assumptions and support the pre-execution phase with historical data.
• Support project development of onshore solar PV, wind, battery and natural gas projects, interfacing across technical and commercial areas.
• Plan resources and coordinate input of specialized skills from internal or external sources.
