Job summary

MHB Group in North Toronto is seeking a Pre-Construction Coordinator / Estimator to join our established construction management and general contracting team, focusing on healthcare and institutional interior projects.

You will review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, obtain subcontractor pricing, build estimates, and help develop competitive bids while collaborating with Business Development to coordinate proposals and client information.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, pre-construction, project coordination, or related roles.
• Experience with commercial, institutional, healthcare, interiors, renovations, or fit-outs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor bids, and estimate preparation.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills; estimating software experience is a plus.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail; capable of catching items others miss.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
• Proactive, team-oriented approach with interest in growing in pre-construction and business development.

Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Coordinator / Estimator

As Pre-Construction Coordinator / Estimator, you'll sit at the intersection of Estimating and Business Development, helping turn opportunities into well-planned, well-priced projects. What You'll Do

You’ll support the estimating team through the full pre‑construction process — reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing quantity takeoffs, obtaining and analyzing subcontractor and supplier pricing, building estimates, and helping develop competitive bids. At the same time, you'll work closely with Business Development to coordinate proposals, presentations, client information, project opportunities, and follow‑up activities. You'll help track upcoming opportunities, maintain estimating and CRM information, and ensure the team has what it needs to move projects from opportunity → proposal → award.

What You'll Bring
