Job summary

Primacorp Ventures Inc in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Practical Nursing Instructor for ongoing part-time onsite engagement. The role delivers instruction, evaluates student performance, and develops curriculum across clinical practicums at Burnaby General Hospital and VaCC Burnaby Campus.

The ideal candidate holds a current BCCNM license with 3+ years of nursing and teaching experience, including acute care. A teaching credential or PID pursuit is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current license with BCCNM.
• Three or more years of teaching experience with at least one year in acute care.
• Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in a relevant discipline.
• A credential in adult education or willingness to pursue the PID at an accredited post-secondary institution is required.
• One year of teaching experience could be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum.
• Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently.
• Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.
• Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience.
• Act in a manner that upholds the College standards.
• Participate in College and Program Activities.
• Monitor and review students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as the program requires.
• Facilitate learning on exacerbations of chronic illnesses and presentations of acute illness.
• Facilitate consolidation of skills such as post-operative care, surgical wound management, IV therapy, and focused assessment.
• Deliver 200 hours of clinical teaching over a period of 6 weeks, take attendance of students, and supervise the safety of students during clinical hours.
• Advocate for learning of students in the acute care setting and monitor their progress.

Practicum Location: Burnaby General Hospital - Classroom: VaCC Burnaby Campus

Start Date: Immediately

Working Hours: 8 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm

Pay:RN: $38-$41/hr - LPN: $34-$38/hr

Your Day to Day:
