Job summary

Finning International is seeking Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our mining client in Nunavut. You will operate and repair Caterpillar generators, diagnose C-175 engine issues, and complete technical reports daily, working closely with customers and the Finning team.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
• Preference for C-175 experience.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
• Powerhouse operation experience is an asset.
• Experience with supervisory control systems (Woodward/SCADA/DSLC/EMCP).
• CAT SIS and ET familiarity is beneficial.
• Finning S-Levels or Tier 4 training an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and repair Caterpillar generators in a powerhouse setting.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot C-175 engine or genset repairs.
• Repair engines, generator, fuel system, heat exchangers and PLC controllers.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete technical documentation (daily service reports, warranty, crossover notes, inspections).
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the Finning team.
• Collaborate with the Service Supervisor on tasks as required.
