Job summary

Finning is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics to support a mining client in Nunavut. Work includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar equipment, with a 21/21 day/night shift rotation and a strong benefits package.

Wages are listed at $66.33/hour with travel assistance per rotation and flights from Edmonton or Yellowknife, plus camp accommodations and other employee benefits. This role offers a unique opportunity in Canada’s North.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification for heavy-duty equipment.
• 5+ years of troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance experience.
• Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 years).
• Strong experience with electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems.
• Engine or component rebuilding experience is beneficial.
• Transmission or hydraulic testing experience.
• Ability to work 21/21 continuous day/night shift rotation (12-hour shifts).
• Commitment to on-site safety requirements.

• Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Certification
• 5+ years experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment (e.g., Dozers, Track-Hoes, Rock Trucks, Haul Trucks, Graders, Generators, Loaders, Drills & Shovels)
• Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 years)
• Strong experience in electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience (beneficial)
