Job summary

Finning Canada, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer, is seeking a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic for its Surrey team. You will diagnose, repair, and overhaul large industrial, marine, and power generating engines while upholding safety standards and Finning service commitments.

Ideal candidates hold a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with engine rebuilding experience and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification required.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience.
• Safety-conscious team player with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, MEC, or Tier 4 training would be asset.
• Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be asset.
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be asset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls of large industrial, marine, and power generating engines.
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes).
• Interact with customers, product and sales support, and the Finning team.
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks as required.
