Job summary

Arup is seeking a Power System Engineering Intern for January–April 2027 in Calgary. You will assist in decarbonized energy projects, including renewable generation, transmission and distribution studies, and substation design with BESS.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical/Power/Renewable energy, with basic power system knowledge and familiarity with PSCAD/PSS/E/ETAP/SKM. Hybrid work available; opportunity to learn from seniors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power System, or Renewable Energy engineering.
• Basic knowledge of power systems, renewable energy technologies, and energy storage.
• Familiarity with PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM or similar tools is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of decarbonized energy systems in projects from renewable generation to transmission and distribution.
• Assist in design, analysis, and simulation of electrical power systems including solar, wind, and battery storage.
• Perform power system studies such as short circuit, cable ampacity, arc flash, load flow and energy yield.
