Job summary

Newmarket-Tay Power Distribution Ltd. (NT Power) seeks a Meter Tech Journeyperson or Apprentice to work from Midland and service Newmarket. The role performs maintenance, installations, troubleshooting and repairs on metering equipment for accurate energy tracking, reporting and compliance.

The position offers full-time work with a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan, and requires a valid Ontario G-class licence and strong safety discipline.

Qualifications

• Certified Engineering Technician designation is required.
• Completion of MEARIE/EDA Meter Technician program is expected.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in metering.
• Eligible for Level 4 apprentice status or as a Metering Journeyperson.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove and maintain metering equipment and systems.
• Design and install metering panels for transformer-rated services.
• Test and verify metering installations per Industry Canada specs.
• Coordinate programs like reverification, compliance sampling and inventory.
• Address consumer metering complaints with supervisor support.
• Maintain metering records and report statistics.
