Job summary

TAPP Workforce Solutions is seeking reliable Meter Technicians for a St. Thomas water meter exchange project, Ontario. This is a project-based contractor role with a focus on safe, accurate meter exchanges at residential and commercial properties.

You will interact with customers, document work on mobile devices, and follow project schedules while maintaining professionalism and safety. Preference given to locals; start date to be confirmed.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, water meters, utilities is an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Ability to pass any required background or screening checks.
• Previous water meter exchange experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Remove existing water meters and install replacement meters and related components.
• Complete assigned appointments according to the project schedule.
• Verify that replacement meters are properly installed and functioning.
• Identify and report issues that prevent an exchange from being completed.
• Interact professionally with residents and property owners.
• Explain the meter exchange process and answer basic customer questions.
• Accurately record meter information, installation details, and completion data using mobile devices and digital applications.
• Follow all safety procedures and project requirements.
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
• Communicate any access issues or project concerns to the Lead Technician or Project Manager.

Meter Technician – St. Thomas Water Meter Exchange Project Location: St. Thomas, Ontario
Position Type: Project-Based Contractor
Compensation: $27.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience

About the Project
We are looking for 5 reliable and motivated Meter Technicians to support a water meter exchange project in St. Thomas, Ontario.
Technicians will be responsible for completing scheduled water meter exchanges at residential and commercial properties. The successful candidates will work directly with customers, complete installations safely and efficiently, and accurately document completed work.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already located in St. Thomas or the surrounding area.

Schedule & Availability

• Project-based position in St. Thomas, Ontario.
• Candidates local to St. Thomas and the surrounding area are preferred.
• Availability to work until 6:00 PM is an asset.
• Saturday availability is preferred.
• Candidates should be flexible to accommodate project scheduling requirements.

Working Conditions

• Work will take place primarily at residential and commercial properties.
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or restricted spaces.
• Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 40 lbs.
• Regular interaction with customers and members of the public
