WSP is seeking an Electrical and Controls Designer to help shape energy systems across Canada. Join the Energy & Process team and collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to deliver future-ready projects from design through construction.

Role involves reviewing P&IDs, developing complete electrical packages, and supporting field deployment. Contribute to decarbonization efforts while coordinating with professionals across multiple disciplines in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical engineering technology or related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on electrical design experience, preferably in consulting/EPC environments.
• Experience supporting Power Generation projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; 3D CADD tools are a plus.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative in a fast-paced multidisciplinary setting.
• Desire to contribute to climate adaptation and decarbonization of energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Review P&IDs and transform into electrical drawings and specs.
• Create complete electrical drawing packages for approval, bid, and construction (single-line diagrams, schematics, lighting, control panels, heat trace).
• Evaluate RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, and electrical contract documents per standards.
• Mark up vendor package/skid drawings to meet project specs and enable cross-discipline integration.
• Provide wiring details and field guidance to electrical contractors.
• Offer responsive field support during construction to resolve issues safely.
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, civil, structural and other teams.
• Prepare requisitions, review BOMs and support high-quality deliverables.
