Job summary

WSP is seeking an Electrical and Controls Designer to shape energy systems across Canada. You will contribute to low-carbon initiatives and large facility designs within a multidisciplinary Process & Energy Electrical Group, collaborating with experts to deliver future-ready projects.

Based in Alberta, BC, Ontario, or Atlantic provinces, you will review and produce electrical drawings, support RFQs and vendor integration, and provide field guidance during construction to ensure quality and

Qualifications

Diploma or diploma-equivalent in electrical engineering technology from a recognized post-secondary institution.
5+ years of hands-on electrical design experience, preferably in consulting/EPC environments.
Experience supporting Power Generation Projects is required.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; 3D CAD tools are an asset.

Responsibilities

Review P&IDs and translate them into clear electrical drawings and specifications.
Create complete electrical drawing packages for approvals, bids, and construction.
Evaluate RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, and contract documents using engineering standards.
Mark up vendor package/skid drawings to meet project specs and ensure cross-disciplinary integration.
Provide wiring details and field guidance to electrical contractors.
Offer field support during construction to resolve issues quickly and safely.
Coordinate with mechanical, process, civil, structural teams to achieve project goals.
Prepare requisitions, review BOMs, and contribute to deliverables.
