Job summary

The Manitoba Government's Public Service Delivery department seeks a Power Engineer to join the Selkirk Mental Health Centre operations. You will operate and maintain a Second Class Power House and related mechanical systems, ensuring heating, cooling and electrical power to the facility.

This full-time, on-site role requires a 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate and experience with high pressure steam plants, HVAC, building automation and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• Essential: experience operating aShift Power Engineer in a High Pressure Steam Plant.
• HVAC, life safety and building control system experience.
• Building Automation Systems (DDC) experience and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
• Strong interpersonal communication and initiative.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a Second Class Power House and related mechanical systems.
• Provide heating, cooling and electrical power to the Selkirk Mental Health Centre.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance and testing of systems.
