Power Engineer

Location: Halifax, NS

Work site environment: At heights

Work setting: Urban area, Commercial facility

Salary: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour (to be negotiated) / 40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-time

Starts as soon as possible

Responsibilities

• Assist during routine systems testing
• Assist in locating and isolating system problems
• Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
• Investigate problems to fix or make minor repairs
• Maintain daily logs of operations, maintenance, and safety activities
• Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect malfunctions and ensure normal operation
• Operate automated or computerized control systems
• Perform routine equipment maintenance
• Regulate water levels

Qualifications

• Education: College/CEGEP
• Experience: 1-2 years
• Certificates: Stationary Engineer 4th Class
• Equipment experience: Alarms, Chillers, Compressors, Cooling tower, Electronic controls, Generators, HVAC, Heat exchangers, High pressure boilers, Pneumatic switchboards, Pumps, Switches, Valves
