Job summary

MAKR Group, through its Wekid brand in Kelowna, seeks a Powder Coater to prep parts and apply powder coatings to stainless steel, aluminum, and pipe components, ensuring finish quality and timely delivery.

You will operate coating equipment, inspect finishes, follow safety procedures, and work Monday-Thursday 2:00 PM–12:30 AM on-site; join a collaborative team offering competitive pay and benefits after probation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for coating, primarily stainless steel, aluminum, and pipe materials.
• Follow best practices for powder coating applications.
• Operate coating equipment (guns, hoppers, booth systems).
• Monitor gauges and equipment for defects or issues.
• Inspect paint flow, viscosity and coating quality through checks/tests.
• Ensure components are coated efficiently to meet quality goals and deliveries.
• Follow and promote safety procedures in the workplace.

As a Powder Coater at Wekid, you’ll be responsible for preparing and powder coating materials and assemblies to keep our production line moving smoothly. You’ll make sure every product is finished to the highest quality standard and delivered on time for our customers. Your day-to-day work will involve operating coating equipment, preparing parts, inspecting finishes, and ensuring a safe work environment for you and your teammates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing parts for coating, working primarily with stainless steel, aluminum, and pipe materials
• Following all principles and best practices for powder coating applications
• Operating coating equipment, including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems
• Monitoring machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or issues
• Inspecting paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality through visual checks or testing
• Ensuring that all components are coated efficiently, meet company quality goals, and support on-time customer deliveries
• Following and promoting safety procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment

OTHER INFORMATION:

• This is an on-site position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC)
• This position works Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days, afternoon/evening shift (2:00 PM – 12:30 AM)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Experience working with materials and fabrication processes
• Experience in powder coating or industrial painting
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Solid blueprint reading ability and mechanical aptitude
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is required as a condition of employment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
