Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc in Hanover, ON is seeking a dependable Lead Hand to support breeder farm operations. You will oversee daily farm activities, ensure animal care standards, and provide operational leadership during the work week, with additional responsibilities in the absence of Farm Supervisors.

This role requires weekend on-call duties, ability to work independently, and compliance with animal welfare protocols.

Qualifications

Must follow animal welfare/CHEQ/biosecurity procedures.
Demonstrated safe work practices.
Experience in poultry operations is preferred.
Valid G driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and sort eggs according to quality standards
Perform routine cleaning and sanitation across breeder farm
Completion of required paperwork
Monitor and manage bird feeding schedules, ensuring proper nutrition and feed inventory control
Maintain detailed logs of quality checks and production outputs
Checking barns and eggs
Weekend on-call management and staff supervision
Providing day-to-day direction of employees
Assist in development and implementation of farm safety and biosecurity protocols
Ensure compliance with animal health and welfare protocols
Ensure proper care and readiness of infrastructure, tools, and resources
SAP Data Entry
Training as required
Other duties as assigned
