Position summaryWe are looking for an experienced qualitative researcher with excellent communication skills to lead a project entitled “Resilient Kidney Care Systems: Reducing Vulnerability to Climate Change and Disasters in Canada.”
Natural and human-caused disasters have increased in scope and frequency, and people living with kidney diseases are uniquely vulnerable. Our background work has highlighted gaps in disaster preparedness in the kidney community, and we have developed a framework in disaster risk reduction and management. We now want to operationalize this framework.
The project will entail conducting a vulnerability and adaptation assessment of existing kidney care systems, obtaining input from all stakeholders, and helping conduct a consensus conference. The majority of the work will be conducted virtually.
ROLE:The student's role will be leading all aspects of this work, supported by a research assistant and a lab assistant or Master’s student.
General DutiesSpecific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designing the study
- Ethics approval
- Recruitment
- Data collection and analysis
- Manuscript preparation
- Knowledge dissemination
They will collaborate with investigators from across Canada and several international participating centers and will be supported by our team. They will be expected to submit abstracts to relevant congresses and institutional seminars.
