Introduction
Department / Research Program: Internal Medicine, Nephrology
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with excellent communication skills to lead a project titled “Obtaining patient, caregiver, and provider perspectives on disaster management in kidney care”.
Natural and human-caused disasters have increased in scope and frequency, making people living with kidney diseases particularly vulnerable. Our preliminary work has identified gaps in disaster preparedness within the kidney community, and we have developed a framework for disaster risk reduction and management. The project aims to gather perspectives from patients, providers, and caregivers. Most of the work will be conducted virtually. The fellow will receive co-supervision from Dr. Sandal and another professor.
The fellow will lead all aspects of this research and will be supported by a research assistant and a lab or Master’s student.

- Designing the study, obtaining ethics approval, recruitment, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and knowledge dissemination;
- Collaborating with investigators across Canada and internationally, supported by our team;
- Submitting abstracts to relevant conferences and institutional seminars.
