Job summary

Meridian’s post-harvest team in Powell River, British Columbia, is seeking a dedicated team lead to manage staff performing post-harvest activities, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

As Post-Harvest Manager you will supervise 8–12 trimmers, train new staff, track performance in Meridian’s system, maintain sanitary facilities, and enforce Cannabis Act standards while supporting a growing, compliant operation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or related agricultural setting not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 8-12 trimmers to maximize throughput, while maintaining quality standards, under the guidance of senior operations staff.
  • Train new trimming staff on Meridian’s methods, providing constructive feedback to correct poor technique.
  • Accurately track operational performance utilizing Meridian’s data collection system.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment by performing regular cleaning and sanitation activities in post-harvest rooms and other areas.
  • Keep clothes and shoes worn on-site separate from outdoor clothing; laundry is performed on-site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring tasks are completed and seeking direction when needed.
  • Strictly adhere to and enforce all regulatory requirements under the Cannabis Act and Regulations, and company SOPs.

Job description

Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm

Salary Or Wage: $20 to $30 per hour

Start Date: As soon as possible

List of Duties

  • Keeping a strict separation of clothes and shoes worn on-site from clothing worn outdoors. Laundry is performed on-site for site specific clothing.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with team members, ensuring tasks are completed and seeking direction when needed.
  • Strictly adhere to and enforce all regulatory requirements under the Cannabis Act and Regulations, as well as the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented team lead to join the Meridian 125W Team at our Health Canada licensed cannabis cultivation facility in Powell River, British Columbia.
