Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Porter to handle cleaning duties in a building, including dusting, dust mopping, washroom upkeep, spot cleaning, waste disposal and carpet vacuuming.

You will perform general custodial tasks, restock dispensers, conduct periodic equipment checks and follow health & safety procedures. Strong communication, reliability and teamwork are valued, with prior cleaning experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Must be reliable, motivated, enthusiastic and a team player, willing to assist as needed.
• Must be able to use cleaning equipment.
• Physically able to carry out duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties and any related tasks as assigned (vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, emptying waste receptacles, cleaning common areas).
• Restock single unit dispensers containing soap, towels, toilet tissue and sanitary napkins.
• Complete periodic equipment checks.
• Observe and practice all health and safety procedures and policies.

Job description

The hourly wage range for this position is $22 to $25. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. You will be responsible for cleaning tasks in designated areas of a building, including dusting, dust mopping, cleaning washroom fixtures, spot cleaning, emptying, and cleaning ashtrays and emptying and cleaning waste receptacles and vacuuming carpets.

As a Porter, you will:

• Perform general custodial requirements and any related duties as assigned (duties include but are not limited to use of various cleaning equipment, vacuuming, spot cleaning, sweeping, mopping floors, emptying waste receptacles and other common areas).
• Restock single unit dispensers containing soap, towels, toilet tissue and sanitary napkins.
• Complete periodic equipment checks.
• Observe/practice all health & safety procedures and policies
