Responsibilities

  • Diagnose livestock health issues and monitor animals.
  • Handle animals and perform grooming activities.
  • Perform pig littering tasks, injections, and identification of piglets.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • Keep production records and follow bio-security procedures.

Diagnose livestock health issues
Handling animals
Monitoring animal health
Organize tasks to accomplish the work
Perform animal grooming activities
Perform livestock feeding
Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration
Track and report on current feed inventory
Treat livestock health issues
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs
Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
Maintain quality control and production records
Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
Perform general farm duties
