Job summary

The Town of Whitby is seeking a Pool Coordinator who will report to the Supervisor of Aquatics Services to maintain high safety and service standards across instructional, public swims and rentals. You will train staff, supervise safety and assist with programming.

Ideal candidates hold Lifesaving Society certifications, Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and have leadership experience with part-time staff. The role requires flexibility for hybrid frontline hours and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) months related experience.
  • Current Lifesaving Society certifications as listed above.
  • Current Standard First Aid certification.
  • Current CPR (Level C) certification.
  • A physical fitness level maintained based on above certification requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Department of Health Pool Regulations.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience with part-time staff.
  • A valid police criminal record check for working with the vulnerable sector.

Responsibilities

  • Train staff in instructional standards (Lifesaving Society) and emergency procedures.
  • Safety supervision of instructional, public swims and rentals.
  • Respond to patron inquiries.
  • Resolve problems and perform associated public education duties; instructing and examining leadership courses.
  • Open and secure the facility at end of shift; ensure all public and staff have left safely.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with securing coverage for sick calls and no-shows.
  • Assist with administration and programming where necessary.
  • And other duties as may be assigned.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatics Services, the Pool Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • training staff in instructional standards (Lifesaving Society) and emergency procedures
  • safety supervision of instructional, public swims and rentals
  • responding to patron inquires

  • opening and securing the facility at the end of the shift while ensuring all public and staff have safely left the premises

What You Bring To Our Team
  • minimum of six (6) months related experience

  • Salary Range/Hourly rate: $28.18 - $31.32
