Job summary

The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants in Canada is seeking a Policy Analyst to advance regulatory policy and guidance across Professional Standards, Research, Education and Policy. You will conduct qualitative and quantitative policy research, interpret legislation and regulations, draft background papers, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public policy or related field
• 5–7 years of research/analysis experience including reading and understanding legislation, regulations and case law
• Experience planning, leading, coordinating and/or facilitating multi-staged projects
• Experience providing policy advice and recommendations on complex subjects in regulatory contexts
• Experience developing policies, professional standards, directives and/or guidelines
• Experience supporting government relations activities

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze complex regulatory and policy issues related to regulated professions and legislative trends; prepare publications, reports and recommendations
• Provide strategic policy support, coordinating capabilities and expert advice to the College and Department
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on policy development and research
• Write background papers in support of policy and regulation changes
• Develop and review policies, standards, frameworks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Support government relations activities and environmental scans
