Job summary

Brantford Police Service seeks a Training Constable to lead training initiatives in the Training Section, coordinating civilian and uniform personnel. The incumbent will orchestrate updates in law and policy, liaise with Field Training Officers, and help manage the firearms range while upholding human rights and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Policing Adequacy Standards Manual related to training issues.
• Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and organizational policies.
• Strong knowledge of Adult Educational Theory and training systems.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver training to sworn, civilian, and auxiliary members.

Responsibilities

• Make verbal, written and digital presentations to trainees.
• Design, coordinate, schedule, debrief, and distribute training material across groups.
• Prepare lesson plans and organize new recruit orientation.
• Evaluate and document training attendance and maintain records.
• Recruit, train, and educate Auxiliary Officers and Citizens on Patrol volunteers.
• Review Use of Force reports and manage the firearms range operations.
