Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Calgary is looking for an experienced Commercial Plumbing Service Supervisor to lead our service team and oversee daily plumbing operations. You will supervise service technicians and subcontractors, coordinate commercial projects, ensure high-quality workmanship, maintain customer satisfaction, and promote a safe, productive work environment in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.

• Minimum 5 years commercial experience supervising teams.
• Red Seal Journeyman with Gas ticket (other trade certification may be recognized).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Commercial buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise plumbing service field teams and subcontractors, ensuring schedules are met and costs stay within budget.
• Ensure accurate layout of work with field teams per project plans and specs.
• Mentor staff and conduct biweekly safety/toolbox meetings.
• Assist in pricing changed/additional work when required.
• Coordinate service activities with Service and Billing Coordinators to ensure timely closures.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated commercial Plumbing Service Supervisor to lead our Calgary service team and oversee daily plumbing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing service technicians, coordinating commercial plumbing projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, maintaining customer satisfaction, and promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise plumbing service field teams and subcontractors on service work orders and small projects, ensuring schedules are met, safety protocols are followed, and costs remain within budget.
• Ensure accurate layout of work with field teams in accordance with project plans and specifications.
• Mentor staff and provide guidance, conduct biweekly safety/toolbox meetings.
• Participate in the pricing of changed/additional work when required.
• Collaborate with Service and Billing Coordinators to ensure all service activities are completed accurately and closed efficiently within established timelines.
• Perform material take-offs, coordinating material delivery and ensuring received orders are accurate and accounted for to maximize field productivity.
• Ensure due diligence regarding Prime Contractor requirements.
• Attend weekly manpower meetings and monthly safety/operations meetings as required.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and protocols.
• Fulfill service manpower requirements by working with management through the hiring process.
• Review all safety forms, policies and procedures and jointly work with safety specialists and all teams to ensure compliance to HSE Standards.
• Any other responsibilities directed by management.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Commercial buildings and facilities.
• Working knowledge of current local codes, standards and regulations.
• Ability to make good and timely decisions, strong time management skills, and well-organized.
• Strong commitment to safety with the ability to enforce strict safety protocols and guidelines.
