The Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Designer to join our Buildings - Mechanical department, located at our Vancouver, BC office. This role will support the design and delivery of plumbing systems for a wide range of institutional, commercial, light industrial, healthcare, and recreational projects. Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering, the successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality plumbing designs using Revit.

What you can expect to do here
  • Providing design, calculations, and technical support for the layout and specification of plumbing systems for building projects
  • Provide technical support to project teams and Project Managers throughout all project phases
  • Ensure designs comply with the BC Plumbing Code and other applicable standards
  • Produce high-quality 3D models and drawings using Revit (primary platform) and AutoCAD
  • Conduct on-site mechanical investigations, audits, and reviews as required
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and field review documentation
  • Participate in client and project team meetings
  • Perform other related duties as required
What you’ll bring to WSP
  • Diploma from a technical university/college in mechanical technology or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 1+ years of relevant design experience in plumbing systems design
  • Understanding of the BC Plumbing Code and other applicable standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP with the ability to model complex plumbing systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a consulting environment
  • Understanding of typical plumbing system
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Reputation for meeting or exceeding expectations
  • A "can do" attitude, able to work in a team environment
Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $53,100 – $73,000

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
