Role Description

The Plumber role at Canadian Home Comfort is a contract, on-site position based in Hamilton, ON. In this role, the plumber installs, maintains, and repairs residential plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing plumbing issues, performing routine and emergency repairs, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with local codes, and documenting work performed. The plumber interacts with customers on-site, explaining recommended solutions, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring a clean and safe work area upon completion. This position requires a focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.

Qualifications

• Strong plumbing skills, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair of residential systems
• Experience working with various pipe materials and fittings, including cutting, joining, and testing
• Proficiency in maintenance and repair, including preventative maintenance and diagnosing system issues
• Ability to deliver professional customer service, including clear communication and respectful interaction in customers’ homes
• Valid plumbing trade certification or license appropriate to Ontario regulations
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and best practices
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Hamilton, ON
• Capability to perform the physical requirements of the role, such as lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
• Previous residential plumbing experience is strongly preferred
