Job description

Job Title: PLC Technician

We are seeking a dedicated PLC Technician to join our team, practicing safe working methods as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Internal Management Policies to protect personnel and equipment. This role requires proactive execution of the needs of a 24/7 operation and the ability to respond to changing demands on short notice. The position involves maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of High-Speed PLC & VFD Controlled Processes and Packaging Equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed PLC & VFD controlled processes and packaging equipment.
  • Utilize and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers, instrumentation, and PC to observe and repair machine function.
  • Maintain electrical plant utilities such as lighting and emergency lighting/generators.
  • Calibrate process control instruments and controllers.
  • Complete preventive maintenance routines and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Advise on problem resolution and procurement of material and equipment for individual jobs.
  • Assist in project work, equipment modifications, and new installations as required.
  • Keep the equipment file documentation system current and updated.
  • Ensure EET Shop is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Communicate clearly with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel.
  • Record all regular and overtime work daily and submit to the maintenance supervisor on time.
  • Ensure instrumentation equipment in the shop and personal tools are operational and safe to use.
  • Keep departmental and electrical shop logbooks current as per work performed.
  • Participate in relevant training as required.
  • Assist new EETs in the process of familiarization with job duties, safety, and equipment operation.
  • Follow all GMP rules and regulations and quality checks.
  • Work according to ISO Environment and OHSAS Safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Nestle Quality Management System (NQMS) and quality policy as defined by the 4 Cs.
  • Other duties as per business requirements.
Essential Skills
  • 4+ years as a licensed PLC Technician.
  • Valid 309A or 442A license with industrial experience.
  • Experience in PLC troubleshooting, particularly with Allen Bradley systems.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Skills in electrical wiring, switchgear installation, and conduit bending.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Robotics experience is a nice-to-have.

Pay and Benefits
