Job Purpose

The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated systems and industrial control processes using PLCs.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Create and develop PLC programs to meet automation needs.
  • Test PLC programs and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including diagrams and flowcharts.
  • Perform regular maintenance of PLC systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and automation professionals to integrate systems.
  • Train and advise on PLC system use and maintenance.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in PLC programming and automation often required.
  • Proficiency in Ladder Logic and Function Block Diagram languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to create detailed schematics and documentation.
  • Good communication skills for team collaboration.
  • Stay updated with PLC technologies and industry trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily indoor work environment.
  • Compliance with ventilation, cleanliness, lighting, and temperature standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and repetitive movements involved.
  • Use of safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel-toed shoes, and beard nets.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.
