Base pay range

CA$40.00/hr - CA$48.00/hr

Insight Global is seeking a Controls System PLC Programmer to join a leading automation company. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing automation solutions for programmed machines that have not yet been tested. This involves creating Allen Bradley PLC software programs using Allen Bradley Servo Motion to meet client-specific requirements. The candidate will integrate these designs into machines on the shop floor and perform testing/debugging to ensure proper operation and fulfill change order requests from clients. The final phase includes dismantling the machine for shipment and traveling to the customer site in the US for reconstruction, which may take 3 to 5 weeks. The successful candidate will be required to work at the Cambridge location five days a week.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in PLC and Allen Bradley systems
• At least 1 year of ABB Robot experience with the ability to integrate robots with existing code
• Willingness and ability to travel for 3-6 weeks outside of Canada (US, Europe)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a self-starter attitude
• Post-secondary engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, systems, or computer engineering
