Job summary

Craigleith Ski Club is seeking a Playroom Attendant to provide quality childcare for children aged 0–5 during the winter season. The role is part-time and seasonal, with primary shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, 8:15 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m., from December through March at 164 Craigleith Road, The Blue Mountains, ON. You will ensure safety and enjoyment while following established procedures, plan age-appropriate activities, and document attendance and wellness checks.

Qualifications

• A genuine love for working with young children.
• Patient, nurturing and reliable with a positive attitude.
• Previous childcare experience is an asset.
• Experience supporting children with disabilities is an asset.
• First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times in a safe, nurturing environment.
• Provide care including feeding, diapering, and hygiene support.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities (songs, crafts, stories).
• Encourage positive social interaction and emotional development.
• Complete daily documentation (attendance, activity logs, wellness checks).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the playroom; light cleaning duties.
• Follow childcare, health, and safety procedures; collaborate with staff.

Position Summary

As a Playroom Attendant, you will provide quality childcare for children aged 0–5 years, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment while following established childcare and wellness procedures. You will lead age-appropriate activities and help maintain a clean, welcoming space where children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
• Provide care including feeding, diapering, and supporting personal hygiene routines
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities such as songs and music, story time, arts and crafts, and active play
• Encourage positive social interaction and emotional development
• Complete daily documentation including attendance lists, activity logs, and wellness checks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the playroom, including light cleaning duties
• Follow all established childcare, health, and safety procedures
• Collaborate with other Playroom and Club staff to create a positive and inclusive experience

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in childcare, babysitting, classroom, or caregiving settings is an asset

Schedule & Season

• Primary shifts: Saturdays and Sundays, 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Additional hours may be available during holidays and March Break
• Season: Winter ski season, approximately December to end of March
