Job summary

the company is seeking an Observability Engineer to join the Auth0 Platform Observability team in Canada. You will help ensure product and platform engineers can monitor and observe the platform while continuing to ship software customers love.

Lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor engineers. You will champion instrumentation, design scalable observability infrastructure, and actively participate in incident response to improve telemetry coverage and system reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps experience.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Expertise in Datadog, including alerting, tagging, and Terraform-driven configurations.
• Strong coding skills in Node.js or Golang.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Data-driven approach to debugging cross-service performance issues.
• Deep understanding of microservice architecture and best practices.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Champion observability best practices and educate teams on robust instrumentation.
• Run services in production and ensure high availability.
• Design services for high growth and scalability.
• Provision, configure, and monitor cloud-native infrastructure and services.
• Build and maintain scalable observability infrastructure with Terraform.
• Troubleshoot performance and operational issues.
• Automate operational tasks and improve scripts.
• Influence performance testing and automation efforts.
• Lead incident response to diagnose root causes and close telemetry gaps.
• Drive cross-team initiatives to improve instrumentation standards across engineering.
