Job summary

SpectrumForce in Toronto, ON is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support a global transaction banking platform. The role focuses on platform engineering, DevOps transformation, software delivery modernization, and AI-enabled engineering.

You will collaborate with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and platform teams to modernize delivery, automate workflows, and drive adoption of GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and AI-assisted tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in platform engineering and DevOps.
• Experience with large enterprise environments and modernization.
• Proven ability to implement CI/CD, IaC, automation and release processes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support a global transaction banking platform within a large financial services environment. This role will focus on platform engineering, DevOps transformation, software delivery modernization, and AI-enabled engineering.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and platform teams to modernize software delivery, improve developer productivity, automate engineering workflows, and drive adoption of modern development practices and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Support platform engineering and software delivery modernization initiatives across enterprise engineering teams.
• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and release processes.
• Develop and standardize modern DevOps practices and engineering workflows.
• Work with GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions to support source control, CI/CD, repository governance, and developer workflows.
• Evaluate and implement AI-assisted software development and engineering productivity tools.
• Identify practical AI use cases across the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, code review, documentation, debugging, and delivery.
• Support adoption and enablement of tools such as GitHub Copilot and other AI-powered engineering solutions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline engineering processes through automation and standardized tooling.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, product, and platform teams to improve software delivery performance.
• Contribute hands-on technical expertise to priority modernization and transformation initiatives.
• Support developer productivity and Developer Experience (DevEx) initiatives.
• Help establish reusable, scalable, and self-service platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex engineering and delivery challenges and drive practical solutions.

Must-Have Skills

DevOps & Software Delivery

• Strong hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and release engineering.
• Experience with software delivery modernization and DevOps transformation.
• Experience implementing modern engineering practices within large enterprise environments.

AI-Enabled Engineering

• Experience evaluating or adopting AI-assisted software development tools.
• Understanding of practical AI applications across the SDLC.
• Experience with engineering productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, Gemini Code Assist, or similar is highly relevant.

GitHub

• Strong experience with GitHub Enterprise.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of source control management and developer workflows.
• GitHub Copilot adoption and engineering enablement experience is an asset.
