Job summary

Price Steel Ltd. is seeking a CNC Plasma/Drill Operator with crane experience for our West Edmonton team. This permanent full-time role requires setting up and operating CNC plasma cutting, beveling, and drilling equipment, reading drawings, and ensuring safety and quality. Afternoon shift is 2pm–11pm with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities include interpreting work orders, planning sequences, and maintaining precise measurements and machine settings to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating CNC plasma cutting/beveling/drilling machines in a metal fabrication environment is an asset.
• Reading and writing English, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Ability to stand, lift, and perform various other physical functions.
• Must be mechanically inclined, production oriented, and quality conscious.
• Must be able to work the afternoon shift. Hours are 2pm – 11pm.

• Set up, adjust and operate the CNC Plasma cutting/beveling/drilling machine as specified by work order and customer needs.
• Comprehend written work instructions, work orders, basic blueprints/drawings, and plan work sequence accordingly.
• Accurately set controls for speed, feed rate depth and angle.
• Use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometers.
• Perform the burning/beveling/drilling process which includes completing all cutting functions according to drawings, continuously monitoring and inspecting job for quality.
• Possess a strong safety awareness, perform duties in a safe manner and comply with all Health and Safety procedures.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as required.

Job description

We require an energetic and safety conscious CNC Plasma/Drill Operator with crane operation experience to join our West Edmonton team. This is a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust and operate the CNC Plasma cutting/beveling/drilling machine as specified by work order and customer needs
• Comprehend written work instructions, work orders, basic blueprints/drawings, and plan work sequence accordingly
• Accurately set controls for speed, feed rate depth and angle
• Use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometers
• Perform the burning/beveling/drilling process which includes completing all cutting functions according to drawings, continuously monitoring and inspecting job for quality, cutting and removal of scrap material, machine adjustments to achieve optimal performance, handling and moving materials and pieces, etc.
• Possess a strong safety awareness, perform duties in a safe manner and comply with all Health and Safety procedures
• Other tasks and responsibilities as required
