Metalcraft Technology Inc. is a Coquitlam-based manufacturing company with 25+ years in sheet metal fabrication. We are hiring a CNC Laser Punch Operator to join the punching team and help drive precision output.

The role requires 1–2 years of CNC punch press programming, Amada experience preferred, and the ability to read drawings and perform first-off inspections. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years CNC punch press programming experience.
• Amada experience preferred; others may apply.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring tools.
• Able to lift 50 lb and handle sheet metal safely.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC punch presses and laser cutting equipment per drawings and work orders.
• Prepare material type, thickness, and quantity; load/unload sheet metal safely.
• Verify tooling loads; perform first-off and in-process inspections with calipers and gauges.
• Sort, label, and organize finished parts; perform basic deburring and cleanup as needed.
• Monitor material levels and coordinate upcoming jobs; keep pallets organized and labelled.
• Identify defects, dimensional issues, equipment faults, and delays; troubleshoot within training scope.
• Maintain tools and workspace tidy; follow safety, 6S/lean procedures.

Job description

Metalcraft Technology Inc. is a manufacturing company with more than 25 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. We serve clients in Canada and the U.S. from our location in Coquitlam, BC. We are currently looking for a CNC Laser Punch Operator to join our punching team.

Only candidates who live in Metro Vancouver will be considered for this position.

As a CNC Laser Punch Operator, You will:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC punch presses and laser cutting equipment according to drawings, work orders, and priorities set by the Team Lead.
• Prepare and verify material type, thickness, and quantity; load and unload sheet metal safely.
• Check that tooling and die sets are correctly loaded; perform first-off and in-process inspections using calipers, rulers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Shake out cut parts; sort, label, and organize completed parts for downstream work. Perform basic deburring and part cleanup as needed.
• Monitor material levels and coordinate orders for upcoming jobs; keep incoming pallets and materials organized and labelled.
• Identify and report defects, dimensional issues, equipment faults, and production delays; troubleshoot equipment within the scope of training.
• Maintain equipment and keep tools clean, sharp, and organized. Keep the work area tidy, including emptying garbage cans and scrap bins.
• Use material handling equipment as authorized and follow company quality, safety, PPE, and 6S or lean procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of CNC punch press programming experience; relevant technical education or courses preferred.
• Experience programming and operating CNC punch presses; Amada experience preferred. Experience with EML and Apelio is an asset.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming, controls, tooling, and machine setup; mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to read moderately complex engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions and use measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb regularly and handle sheet metal safely.
• Effective verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and ability to work with production and quality teams.
