Job summary

BQE Water Inc. is seeking experienced Plant Supervisors to support water treatment facilities across Canada.

Roles may be site-based or involve travel to multiple facilities nationally, with a rotation schedule and strong emphasis on safety and operational excellence. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial plant operations, including water treatment or related environments, and demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and data reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial plant operations, maintenance, technical operations, or a related process environment; at least 1 in wastewater treatment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience working in site-based industrial environments with a strong safety culture.
  • Proficiency in communicating with clients, contractors, operations teams and other stakeholders.
  • Strong report-writing and data interpretation skills for performance KPIs.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and workplace safety.
  • Preferred: experience in water treatment plants, wastewater treatment or mining operations; bilingual English/French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily water treatment plant operations and maintain relationships with client site management and personnel.
  • Supervise plant operators and visiting engineers, providing training, mentorship, and development support.
  • Implement onboarding and training programs for site-based personnel ensuring SOP compliance.
  • Lead all aspects of water treatment plant operations and maintenance, pursuing efficiency gains and excellence.
  • Manage plant inventories and coordinate procurement and reorders with site owners and vendors.
  • Analyze and report plant performance data and KPIs to site leadership and head office.
  • Show leadership in health, safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.
  • Support the Technology Development Group with data reconciliation and utilization reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management.

The Company

BQE Water Inc. is a global leader in industrial water treatment and environmental solutions for the mining and resource sectors. As we continue to expand operations across North America, we are seeking experienced Plant Supervisors to support water treatment facilities throughout Canada. Depending on operational requirements and location, this role may be site-based or involve travel to support multiple facilities nationally. We are looking for safety-focused leaders with experience in industrial plant operations, water treatment, mining, maintenance, or process operations who enjoy rotational schedules and site-based work. These are permanent, full-time positions offering year-round employment, professional development, and off-season opportunities for training and project support with an industry-leading international company.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily water treatment plant operations while building and maintaining strong relationships with client site management, contractors, and operational personnel.
  • Supervise plant operators and visiting Junior Process Engineers, providing process training, mentorship, coaching, and professional development support.
  • Execute onboarding and training programs for site-based personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational best practices.
  • Lead all aspects of water treatment plant operations and maintenance, proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and operational excellence.
  • Manage plant inventories, including chemicals, consumables, tools, materials, and PPE, coordinating procurement and reorders with site owners and vendors.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report plant performance data and operational KPIs to site leadership, operations management, and head office teams.
  • Provide visible leadership in health, safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.
  • Support the Technology Development Group through process data reconciliation, reagent consumption analysis, and plant utilization reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management.
Qualifications & Eligibility
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial plant operations, maintenance, technical operations, or a related process environment; at least 1 in wastewater treatment is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience working in site-based industrial environments with a strong safety culture.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard workplace software applications.
  • Experience preparing operational reports, performance metrics, and technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, operations teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and workplace safety.
  • Preferred: Experience in water treatment plants, wastewater treatment, industrial process plants, mining operations, or environmental services, with relevant water treatment certifications or operator credentials considered a strong asset.
  • Preferred: Degree, diploma, or technical education in a related discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Hydrometallurgy, Environmental Engineering, or Industrial Operations); bilingualism in English and French is also considered an asset.
