Job summary

MyGreenScape in Richmond Hill, ON is hiring a Plant Shop Associate to care for our plants, assist customers, and prepare orders. You'll work 40 hours weekly, with shifts from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., including weekends, and enjoy a 30-minute lunch.

No plant expertise is required initially; we’ll train you. A love of plants, patience with customers, and teamwork will help you thrive. You’ll gain hands-on experience with plant care, inventory, online orders, and local deliveries.

Qualifications

• Love of plants and knowledge of houseplant care.
• Friendly and patient with customers.
• Detail-oriented; orders must go out right and plants must look their best.
• Able to juggle multiple tasks on busy days.
• Team player and open to feedback.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Care for plants in the shop: watering, cleaning leaves, pruning and pest checks.
• Pick, pack and stage online orders for GTA delivery and shipping.
• Get pickup orders ready and hand them to customers.
• Help customers in the shop and ring up sales on our POS.
• Prepare bulk plant orders for weddings, showers and corporate events.
• Help with local deliveries.
• Receive plant shipments and help with inventory counts.
• Help with product photos and social media content.
• Pitch in on anything else the Store Manager needs.

Pay: Starting at $17.95/hour

Hours: 40 hours a week, scheduled around our store hours (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), with a 30-minute lunch each shift

Location: MyGreenScape, 10737 Yonge Street, Unit 17, Richmond Hill, ON

Reports to: Store Manager

About the role

You'll keep our plants healthy, get orders out the door and help customers in the shop. Some days you'll be helping a first-time plant owner pick something easy, and other days you'll be prepping a big order for a wedding. It's hands‑on work, and no two days look the same.

You don't need to be a plant expert, but you should know your way around common houseplants and genuinely enjoy caring for them. We'll teach you the rest.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

• A real love of plants and a good working knowledge of houseplant care
• Friendly and patient with customers, whether they're plant pros or total beginners
• Detail-oriented. Orders need to go out right, and plants need to look their best
• Comfortable juggling a few things at once on busy days
• Enjoys working as part of a team and is open to feedback
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs (big plants, soil bags, cases)

Nice to have

• Retail or customer service experience
• Your own transportation for supply pickups and other errands

Schedule

• Weekend availability is required
• You’ll need to be available during our busiest times, including sales like Black Friday, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, wedding season and our Wednesday specials
