Reporting directly to the Operation Supervisors, the Tank Farm Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility's Tank Farm and tanker off-loading/loading circuit, while ensuring the Toronto facility maintains environmental compliance. The successful candidate should have experience in a similar industrial sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Participate actively in GFL Environmental, Health & Safety Program.
2. Comply with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures.
3. Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and drivers.
4. Perform and complete shift and equipment checklists.
5. Maintain daily housekeeping duties around the facility and assist coworkers as needed.
6. Sample inbound and outbound bulk loads and individual tanks within the tank farm.
7. Off-load and load bulk liquid industrial wastewater into tanks and tankers.
8. Operate and drive vacuum trucks safely within the facility perimeter.
9. Perform compatibility tests on containerized wastes and process wastes accordingly.
10. Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
11. Work independently, completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
12. Identify and suggest process improvements.
13. Assist with additional duties as assigned.
14. Be prepared to work the afternoon shift (1500hrs-2300hrs), with potential transition to night shift (23:00-07:00) if required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

1. Previous Tank Farm experience in an industrial setting preferred.
2. Forklift experience is required.
3. Knowledge of environmental regulations (CEPA, Ontario Reg. 347/558, TDG, etc.) is an asset.
4. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work with minimal supervision.
5. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
7. Mechanically inclined, comfortable with hand tools.

Working Conditions:

1. Primarily outdoors, exposed to weather conditions.
2. Long periods of standing, climbing ladders, and walking between areas.
3. Physical ability to lift, connect/disconnect hoses, and perform cleanup tasks.

Work Schedule:

Afternoon shift (1500hrs-2300hrs), with possible additional hours outside regular schedule. This is a 24/5 operation. Offers are conditional on passing a drug and alcohol test.
