Responsibilities include safety, daily operations, status updates, inspections, and troubleshooting. Candidates with 4th or 3rd Class certification, mechanical aptitude, and experience with heavy equipment are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 4th or 3rd Class Power Engineer certification is required.
• Mechanical aptitude with solid fuel firing experience is an asset.
• Maintenance experience is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and clear communication are essential.
• Experience with heavy equipment operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of the plant and personnel.
• Operate plant equipment in the field for optimal performance.
• Provide accurate plant status updates to the Shift Engineer and identify issues promptly.
• Perform regular plant tours and inspections.
• Identify and suggest improvements on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Balance shift priorities and monitor issues throughout the shift.
• Complete rounds using check sheets for inspection.
• Conduct water tests each shift and enter results into the online database.
• Perform lockouts on required equipment.
• Support business areas and systems with a focus on reliability and safety.
