We are currently seeking a full-time Plant Operator to join us in the Mississauga area. Join our growing team and play a vital role in driving sustainable solutions in greenhouse gas reduction and energy production.
Position Summary
As a Plant Operator, you will play a critical role in operating and maintaining our landfill gas-to-energy facilities. This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional passionate about renewable energy and sustainability. While the position is based in Mississauga, travel within the Southern Ontario corridor may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain landfill gas to energy utilization facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Record and maintain operational and maintenance logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
- Comply with safety and environmental standards and participate in regular training programs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification is an asset)
- Experience: 5 years of experience in plant operations or maintaining mechanical machinery is preferred. Experience in the landfill gas or renewable energy sector is preferred
- Experience operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, gas compression and treatment equipment, valves and plant instrumentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for data entry and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Additional Details
> Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (day shift)
> On-Call Requirements: On call every 6-7 weeks in Southern Ontario
> Overtime: Approximately 20 hours per month
> Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor, Southern Ontario Operations
> Must have own vehicle for travel throughout Southern Ontario
