Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking plant operators in Mississauga to support their refrigerant business. The role involves operating and maintaining processing equipment, handling materials and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Ideal candidates will have strong multitasking skills, physical capability, and familiarity with refrigerant gases.

• Must be clean shaven.
• Able to work morning and/or afternoon shifts.

• Handle refrigerant cylinders/drums, load and unload materials.
• Operate refrigerant processing equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain a safe working area.

Skills

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Multitask and work under pressure

Knowledge of refrigerant gases

Tow motor experience

Job description

GFL Mississauga is looking for plant operators to support in our refrigerant line of business!

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in an outdoor environment (30%)

• Handle refrigerant cylinders / drums (physical lifting, carrying, moving of material)

• Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using material handling equipment

• Operate refrigerant processing equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance on processing equipment

• Fill out production reports / equipment maintenance reports

• Operate tow motor

• Respond to emergencies and help with the spills clean-up

• Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area

• Some overtime required

• Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable Codes

• Maintain good working relationship with all coworkers and customers

• Perform other assignments as required

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Must be clean shaven (in order to wear a respirator)

• Able to morning shift and/or afternoon shift

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

• Multitask and work under pressure

• Knowledge of refrigerant gases would be an asset

• Tow motor experience, an asset
