Job summary

FLINT is seeking a Plant Operator with Sulphur forming facility experience for a 3 month contract in Didsbury, AB. Work schedule features 12 hour days and benefits after 300+ hours. Local candidates are preferred, but travel or relocation at own expense is welcome.

This safety-sensitive role requires drug and alcohol testing. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years as a Plant Operator in sulphur forming, a 4th class power engineering certificate, and strong knowledge of gas plant operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Plant Operator in Sulphur forming facilities.
• Minimum 4th class power engineering certificate is required
• Possess extensive knowledge of all facets of gas plant operations.
• Ability to monitor and maintain various plant equipment, record testing outcomes, report equipment issues, and oversee production process while improving the plant facility’s efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Meet minimum mandatory safety ticket requirements: CSTS-2020, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, WHMIS, ABSA, ASME
• Physically capable of performing demanding job tasks in various work conditions.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
• Must have own reliable transportation to site.
• Valid driver’s license and clean 5-year Driver’s Abstract with under 6 demerits.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient sulphur forming operations.
• Oversee production processes and report issues to maintain quality and safety.
• Record testing outcomes and ensure compliance with safety tickets and procedures.
• Assist in improving plant efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance.

This position does not include camp accommodations, living out allowance, or travel allowance. Therefore, it is best suited for local candidates; however, those willing to travel or relocate at their own expense are also encouraged to apply.
