Job summary

Fine Gold Resources in Yukon is seeking a seasonal Plant Operator to be based outside of Dawson City. The role runs March to October with a 24/7 operation, day and night shifts, and a rotation schedule.

On-site camp provides accommodation and meals, supporting a remote mining workforce. You will operate and maintain mining equipment, perform safety checks, log inspections, fuel and service gear, and submit daily reports under the Mine Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in plant operations within a mining environment.
• Experience around heavy-duty equipment is an asset.
• Physically fit for manual labour and heavy lifting; ability to work day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment to meet production targets.
• Follow safety and operating procedures.
• Take direction from Mine Supervisor on daily schedule.
• Perform pre- and post-inspections and keep equipment logs.
• Report defects immediately.
• Assist in fueling and maintaining fluids in equipment.
• Assist in maintenance of equipment.
• Prepare daily reports as directed.
• Run sluice plants: water pump, generators, conveyors, trommels, shaker decks, greasing; climb ladders and access tight spots.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job description

Fine Gold Resources is a precious metals mining company operating in the Yukon. We operate on a seasonal basis from March to October and we are looking to hire a seasonal Plant Operator, to be based outside of Dawson City, Yukon.

• We provide accommodation and meals at our on-site camp and offer a highly competitive compensation package.

The mine operates 24/7 with two shifts each day - a day shift and a night shift - with a rotation schedule. During their time off employees may stay on-site at the camp or venture to Dawson City for some time away.

For candidates local to the Dawson City area, we are open to considering an onsite / offsite working schedule.

Job Duties:

• Operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently to meet hourly and daily production targets.
• Ensure full compliance with all safety and operating procedures.
• Follow directions from the Mine Supervisor for the day-to-day operations work schedule.
• Perform pre- & post inspection check-up of the equipment and write/keep equipment log.
• Immediately report any defect found on equipment.
• Responsible for and/or assist in fueling and filling all the fluids in the equipment to the right level.
• Assist in the maintenance works of the equipment.
• Prepare and submit the necessary required daily reports as directed.
• Run the sluice plants including water pump, generators, conveyors, trommels and shaker decks, greasing and minor maintenance, shovel, climb ladders and crawl around tight spots.
• Perform other functions as maybe directed from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 year previous plant operations experience in a mine environment is an asset.
• Experience working around heavy-duty equipment is an asset.
• Physically fit to do manual labour and heavy lifting.
• Ability to work day and night shifts.
