About this opportunity:

Upstream Thermal Operations is seeking a Plant Operator for our Thermal assets. The facility involves water treatment, high-pressure steam generation, sour oil wells, and oil treating facilities. Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Plant Operator ensures safe and efficient operations while meeting production requirements.

This is a continuous recruitment opportunity for the Lloydminster Thermal facility to support ongoing operational needs.

Work Environment:

• Located in Lloydminster; candidates must reside in the area.
• Full-time position with a shift rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hours per day.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to optimize performance and meet production targets.
• Perform condition monitoring, sampling, testing, and complete operational records.
• Support maintenance activities, communicate policies, and lead by example.
• Assist, coach, and train new employees as needed.
• Adhere to High Reliability Organization standards and HS&E requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• 4th class Power Engineering certificate (preferred), with oil & gas experience.
• Experience with steam equipment, oil processing, or well equipment is an asset.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, equipment isolation, and hazard analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.

We consider transferable skills and equivalent experience/education. Final candidates will undergo pre-employment medical and drug assessments. A Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, with background checks including a driver’s abstract.
