Job summary

Riverside Natural Foods Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Manager, Plant Engineering to lead the engineering function across our Canadian manufacturing sites.

You’ll drive prioritization, resource planning, and development of Plant Engineers while advancing productivity, innovation, and plant efficiency. This role blends leadership with technical execution and requires a strong track record in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; PEng an asset.
• Manufacturing/factory engineering experience.
• Approximately 10 years of engineering experience.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing engineers.
• Hands-on plant engineering with equipment modifications, commissioning/start-up, layouts, reliability, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with plant-focused engineering projects and capital planning.
• Experience working with OEMs, contractors, vendors, or external partners.
• Strong understanding of quality, safety, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Own site engineering work intake, prioritization, resource allocation, and weekly execution across sites.
• Lead, coach, onboard, and develop Plant Engineers; provide performance input and training plans.
• Manage portfolio of site engineering projects, plant support, upgrades, and capacity initiatives.
• Ensure engineering standards, documentation practices, drawing control, commissioning, and closeout are applied.
• Support site master planning, bottleneck identification, capacity planning, reliability improvements, and annual capital planning.
• Coordinate plant engineering support for trials, commercialization, change parts, equipment upgrades, safety improvements, and stabilization.
• Partner with Site Directors/Plant Managers to align priorities and remove barriers.
• Collaborate with Capital Projects to align design, installation, commissioning, training, and handover.
• Drive root cause problem solving for cross-site technical issues and escalate as needed.
• Manage external engineering support, contractors, OEMs, and vendors.
